Vijnana Bharathi is a magazine with a different outlook. It has got a mission to serve in the field of education apart from engaging in the noble function of dissemination of our cultural heritage. In fact it covers a vast arena bringing in its purview different branches of knowledge evolved and developed in the Cultural and Spiritual fields of our country. Some of them such as Astrology, Palmistry, Vedic Mathematics etc are taken up with renewed interest fully knowing well that the intelligentsia of our country who are products of modern English education do not even consider those subjects worth studying. When our universities are very much reluctant to promote serious studies in these subjects the positive stand taken by some foreign universities should serve as an eye opener to Indian educationalists. We at Vijnana Bharathi do feel proud of our rich cultural heritage and hence we are happy to take up the study of similar subjects with deep gratitude to the precious contributions made by our ancient Rishis whose penance and sense of responsibility are really beyond words. We do believe that it is our solemn duty to conduct new researches in field such as Ayur Veda, Traditional Methods of healing, martial arts such as Kalari Payattu, traditional Katha Kali dance form of Kerala etc.
Our publication caters to different tastes of the enlightened minds. Focus is given to various subjects in both the arts and science category. Thrust is given to the study of Philosophy especially Vedanta, Logic (Nyaya Sasthra) etc. Study of Sanskrit is undertaker as a key language for exploring almost all of our ancient branches of knowledge. Techniques designed by our Rishis for identifying ourselves with the ultimate reality such as Yoga vidya and Tantra Vidya are also dealt with in a most undiluted fashion to the extent they can be revealed through the printed medium. Due importance is given to various therapies such as Reiky, Ayur Veda, Naturopathy, Hypnotherapy etc.
Famous Scholars are distinguished luminaries such as:- SankaraMenon ,PalliyaraSreedharan,Prof.N.Sivasankaran,Dr.N.Gopalakrishnan,Dr. Philip ജോണ്,Prof.R.Vasudevan Potty, etc…are very generous in furnishing thought provoking articles on various subjects. This magazine is widely circulated in Schools, Colleges, Universities, Government and Private Institutions of Kerala through direct marketing. There are more than 15,000 yearly subscribers including doctors, engineers, teachers, lawyers, journalists, businessmen, housewives and students. Our modest estimate of the number of readers of our magazine is around 4 lakh.
